Project Description

Serving those who Serve

Since 1950, the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center has been improving the health of the men and women who have so proudly served our nation. We consider it our privilege to serve your health care needs in any way we can. We are currently providing service to more than 34,700 Veterans living in the Central and Northern 35 counties of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula.

The Mid-Michigan Therapy Dogs are welcome visitors to the solders and staff of the VA. Their wagging tails are a reminder why we defend Freedom.

Therapy dogs can be any breed. They must be friendly, confident, gentle and at ease in most situations. They should enjoy being petted by people, especially children and the elderly. The dog’s main job is offering comfort, affection and encouragement. It’s a tough job, but they are more than willing to do it.
